There has been multiple incidents of IRS Scam targeted to various immigrant community. I felt the need to emphasis the need for awareness because just got off the phone from a Bangladeshi client who paid 10k to these people. IRS NEVER CALLS YOU.....do not give money to someone who pretends to be IRS and tells to send him money orders.....regardless of where you are from...please pass it on to other communities...and raise awareness against this scams.
If you're not familiar with this here's how it works. Someone who says they are calling from the IRS calls you and scares you to think that there are issues on your account. They then ask you to send money (or phone cards etc.) immediately to settle the settle your balance. Sometimes the person on the other end even talks with an Indian accent. FYI, the IRS will NEVER CALL YOU first! Let others know immediately. Some people have fallen for this and lost several $K
