 Hello Friends,

I am graduating in Fall, 2011. I want to invite my brother and sister-in-law who are currently staying in Japan in working visa. Now, i am wondering if they could apply from Japan to travel to US for attending my convocation? Under which visa should they apply (if not B1)?
Do you have anyone who came to US for your convocation while they were outside of Nepal? What possible challenges did they have in terms of Consular's interaction with your family? Well, any suggestion from you guys will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Just wanted to give you a small ray of hope. One of my friend who was in Japan  ( status - Japan's working Visa) came to USA. He must have came here in Visitor Visa and went back. AFAIK, he also applied diretly from Japan itself.

Consult with the US Emnbassy or concerned bodies (in USA/Japan) to have the first hand info. The first good thing that you already did is - "posting it on sajha."

I just want to emphasize that the above information are the best info that I can provide you. I'm trying
to make this post alive so that other sajha members can help you instead.
